Libya is back on the map
The chaotic scenes that were played out nightly on our television screens of rebels roaring across the desert in their ad hoc armoured vehicles with plumes of smoke and loud explosions in the background and Nato jets screaming overhead, have hardly instilled confidence that peace and security will be guaranteed any time soon. Even the news of Gaddafi’s demise has failed to dispel these concerns as reports and footage of the seemingly brutal and summary manner of his death have emerged. It is clear that the new Libya has a long, hard road to travel.Yet there is every possibility that in a year or two, some more intrepid British tourists might be considering a trip there.
